Taking on Mt Kilimanjaro for Amnesty

I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to challenge myself and to raise funds for Amnesty, to spread the word about the important work they do in defending human rights both in Australia and internationally. 

Amnesty International Australia is committed to ending injustices throughout the world and defending the human rights of those who need it most, such as refugees and Indigenous peoples.  Amnesty lets us here the stories of those who have been wronged, and gives us a chance to contribute to a better, more humane, world.

For me climbing Mt Kilimanjaro is going to be a huge personal challenge.  Getting fit and fundraising are both going to be challenging at times, let alone the actual trek!  For me this opportunity has come at a perfect time, I’m finishing up my uni degree and figuring out exactly how I want to use my career to make a difference.  I can’t wait to go to Africa in July 2012 and prove to myself that I can do this physically demanding 7 day trek, 5895m up!  But first I need your support to help me achieve this crazy, fantastic goal to support Amnesty!  All your donations will go straight to Amnesty :)
