Help Amnesty get me up the mountain
Help Amnesty get me up the mountain
Story
Dear friends,
I am embarking on a journey and need your help!
From 18th - 29th July 2012 I will be climbing the Rongai route up Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania for Amnesty International.

Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa.
I need to raise $5,500 prior to my departure. This money will not be going towards my living expenses or flights! It will be used by Amnesty to fund human rights campaigns etc.
As an incentive, I will be wearing each of the outfits below to work for one day, once the fundraising milestones have been reached. Photos will be uploaded for your entertainment!

The person who donates the most money will also get to choose what outfit I wear whilst climbing the mountain! This must be culturally appropriate and please remember the weather is cold up there!
I will be holding a number of events over the coming months to help me raise the required funds. Basic details are listed below, please follow each link for more information.
| When | Event - detail see below | Address |
|---|---|---|
| 23/02/12 | Dinner with Guest Speaker | Organic Matters |
| 27/04/12 | Auction and entertainment | 453 Church Rd Richmond |
| May-June | 1000 steps with sausage sizzle CANCELLED due to permit resitriction! | 1000steps Dandenong ranges |
The dinner was a great success and we learnt alot about Amnesty in Australia from Dad, Brian Bourke and a past president Mr Ronald Meldrum. The Jelly bean jar competition was a great success (and it is still going! so contact me is you want to guess- ends 31st March!)
Ian Denham was the proud winner of the jar. Pipped my mum at the post by one!
The Auction was a grand success raising over $5000. It was great night- the singing the wine and the amazing auctioneer Shawqi. Thanks so much for all involved
The 1000's steps sausage sizzle was cancelled as the permits for having food was crazy- private function is ok but just incase someone I didnt know came and ate a sausage. Anyway due to industrial action the access to the steps is a bit dodgy. I have walked them several times.
Fours weeks to go and it looks like I am wearing something on the top choosen by my lovely husband! See if you can out do him!
I will keep you posted about my return
Thanks again- Siobhan
